We finally made a long anticipated trip to the History Museum this past weekend.  After a great brunch with Kristin and Tom at Benton Park Cafe.  We ventured over to Forest Park and the History Museum.  We had planned on going to check out the Mammoth and Mastadon exhibit but it was a little price.  So we are saving that for a free day (a random Tuesday).  Instead we checked out the “Civil War in Missouri.”

From history classes I knew that the state was divided, but reading more and seeing the exhibit I saw how divided it was.  We saw the different areas of the state that was divided and even got to create a battle ship that made it’s way up the Mississippi River.

After the exhibit we walked around the section that is all about the World’s Fair in 1904 and then a quick walk through of the history of St. Louis.  I love when most of the museum is free and that we can just pop in whenever we want to.
